Confirm access before fixing the flight
A Cannes Film Festival trip begins with the credentials and appointments you actually hold. Festival accreditation, individual screening invitations, market access and private hospitality are different arrangements. A hotel package or a charter flight does not confer red-carpet admission. Ask each host for the correct venue, arrival time and access conditions.
The organizer publishes 11–22 May for the 2027 festival. That establishes the event window, not the timing of every premiere. Cannes–Mandelieu or Nice?
Cannes–Mandelieu, CEQ / LFMD, is close to Cannes and oriented toward business aviation, while Nice Côte d’Azur, NCE / LFMN, is the larger international gateway. Cannes’s published aircraft-weight capability is up to 35 tonnes; that figure does not establish suitability for every aircraft below it. Ask the handler to compare a confirmed arrival and parking plan at each suitable airport. Where parking is unavailable, the quote should show repositioning and the return aircraft location. An attractive local airport is not a complete solution if it cannot support the proposed departure or aircraft stay.
Keep the Riviera transfer precise
Nice Airport lists authorized helicopter providers and Riviera destinations, including Cannes and Monaco. A chauffeur should have the approved Palais, hotel or property entrance. Festival security and pedestrian areas can change the usual drop-off. If appointments involve Cannes, Cap d’Antibes and Monaco on the same day, build each ground leg separately instead of assuming they form one compact location.
Allow for changes to the evening program
A screening, dinner or charity event can finish later than the original itinerary suggests. Compare the chosen airport’s operating window with the full evening, road transfer and passenger formalities. Establish who can authorize a delay and who will inform the crew and driver.
Budget separately for festival or market access, hospitality, hotel terms, chauffeurs and helicopter transfers. Request aviation handling, parking and repositioning costs in writing. Before departure, reconcile the final invitation schedule with the accepted airport plan; that is more reliable than an assumed fixed festival-week timetable.
