A hotel name alone is insufficient for pickup: resort, convention and theatre entrances can be far apart. Have the driver use the meeting entrance and leave an event-specific buffer. Walking between adjacent-looking resorts can also take longer than the map suggests.

History of Las Vegas
The Las Vegas Valley has a long Indigenous history, including connections with Southern Paiute communities. Railway development helped establish the modern town, while legalised gambling and twentieth-century tourism transformed its scale. Entertainment and conventions later broadened its visitor economy.
Springs supported Indigenous communities and later travellers crossing the desert before the railway town was established in 1905. Nevada's legalisation of gambling in 1931 and nearby dam construction helped change its prospects.
Post-war casinos and entertainment created an international resort economy. Successive redevelopment replaced many early properties, so today's skyline records repeated reinvention rather than the survival of one original hotel district.
