Where to land for Denver
Centennial serves the southeast of the Denver area, while Rocky Mountain Metropolitan is northwest in Broomfield. Choose with the onward itinerary in mind, particularly if you are continuing towards the Front Range or mountain resorts.

Red Rocks and mountain extensions
For Red Rocks, allow a separate outward and return transfer with the venue’s pickup instructions. For a mountain resort, obtain a destination-specific road plan and weather assessment; a Denver arrival should not be advertised as arrival at the ski property.

History of Denver
Denver grew during the Colorado gold-rush era in a region long used by Indigenous peoples. Rail connections and its role as a state capital broadened its economy. The city developed into a commercial gateway between the plains and the Rocky Mountains.
Gold-rush settlement in 1858 established Denver within the homelands of Indigenous peoples of the plains. Rail connections helped it survive early uncertainty and become a supply and commercial centre for the Rocky Mountain region.
Mining wealth funded civic buildings, while later government, transport and business activity diversified the economy. Its growth owes much to serving the mountains, although the city itself lies beside the plains.
