Your journey

Private jet to Mallorca

Mallorca combines a substantial capital with mountain landscapes and beaches, making the hotel location important to the amount of driving in the itinerary. Palma's cathedral and old streets combine naturally with a restaurant-led city day. Beyond the capital, mountain villages and coastal coves give Mallorca its range. Choose one area for a day's exploration rather than attempting to circle the island between lunch and dinner.

Where to land for Mallorca

Palma de Mallorca Airport is the island's main air gateway. The road journey varies substantially between Palma, the Tramuntana villages and the northeastern coast, making the property's location central to arrival planning.

Airport options and trade-offs
Airport	Location and access	Private aviation planning
Palma de Mallorca AirportPMI / LEPA	East of Palma	The principal gateway; the resort’s coast matters as much as the flight arrival time.

Private terminals and arrival experience

A fixed-base operator (FBO) provides ground services for private aircraft and their passengers. The handling team coordinates your arrival; airport opening hours alone do not establish terminal or border-service availability.

Arrange the arrival

Confirm the handling facility at Palma and brief the driver on the final village or estate entrance, particularly for mountain properties.

Match transport to the itinerary

Palma, Deià and the eastern coast are separate bases. Hire a driver for a full mountain day and allow time on winding roads.

Ask the operating carrier to confirm aircraft suitability, handling and permissions for the actual itinerary. For budgeting, see our private jet charter cost guide.

History of Mallorca

Mallorca has prehistoric settlement remains and later Roman, Islamic and Christian histories. Palma developed as a major island port and political centre. Agriculture and maritime trade remained important before twentieth-century tourism transformed much of the coast.

Talaiotic communities left prehistoric settlements before Roman conquest and later Islamic rule. The Catalan conquest led by James I in 1229 brought another major political and cultural transformation.

Palma developed around royal, religious and commercial institutions, while rural estates supported agriculture. Mass tourism in the twentieth century reshaped coastal development, but the island's inland towns and terraces preserve histories distinct from its resort economy.

Interesting facts

The Serra de Tramuntana contains a landscape shaped by terraces and water-management systems.
Palma's cathedral stands close to the former royal palace beside the waterfront.

Best time to visit Mallorca

April–June and September–October suit walking, cycling and coastal stays. July–August is hotter and busier; higher mountain routes have their own conditions.

Mallorca

Local planning

Mountain roads require patience and share space with cyclists. Choose countryside footwear even when the rest of the trip is beach-focused.

Mallorca

A suggested short stay

Spend the first afternoon near the hotel. Use day one for Palma, day two for Deià and Valldemossa, and day three for the coast. Leave a flexible final morning rather than driving across the island before departure.
