Mitsubishi Heavy Industries
Mitsubishi MU-300 / Beechjet 400 / Hawker 400 lineage
The MU-300 established the airframe lineage that continued through the Beechjet 400 and Hawker 400 family. Mitsubishi’s design combined a swept wing with a comfortable light-jet cabin, creating a platform that successive owners improved with engines, systems and interior changes.

Overview
Program history
Mitsubishi developed the MU-300 after the success of the MU-2, seeking higher cruise speed for corporate travel. The first flight came in 1978. Beechcraft later acquired the programme and developed the 400 and 400A; subsequent Hawker branding continued that evolution. This lineage page explains the relationship, while individual model pages identify the applicable specification.
