Overview
Program history
The 55C refined the larger Learjet platform with aerodynamic features intended to improve efficiency, stability and handling. Its winglets reduced wingtip-drag effects, while the delta fins enhanced directional stability and low-speed characteristics. The development shared ideas with the smaller Model 31 but applied them to the heavier, roomier Model 55 airframe.
