Overview
Program history
Bombardier launched the 40XR as an improvement to the existing Learjet 40 rather than a cabin stretch. Its development focused on operational performance, especially demanding departure conditions and climb. The first aircraft entered service in 2006, extending the usefulness of the smaller Learjet platform before the later Learjet 70 refreshed the product line.
