Learjet 40
The Learjet 40 provides the smaller-cabin alternative within the Model 45 generation. It combines a modern winglet-equipped airframe with twin turbofans and an executive cabin sized for smaller groups, bridging Learjet’s earlier light jets and its larger midsize offerings.

Overview
Program history
The Model 40 was developed from the Learjet 45 platform to address a different capacity and acquisition-cost point in the light-jet market. It remained part of the same certified Model 45 family rather than a wholly separate type. The later 40XR improved the performance offering, and the Learjet 70 subsequently renewed this smaller member of the range.
