Westwind lineage: 1123 / 1124 Westwind
The Westwind lineage connects IAI’s stretched 1123 business jet with the turbofan-powered 1124 and later Westwind II. These aircraft share a distinctive mid-wing configuration but differ in propulsion and aerodynamic details, so the family should be understood as several developments rather than a single specification.

Overview
Program history
After moving the Jet Commander production line to Israel, IAI developed the stretched 1123 with tip tanks and GE turbojets. The 1124 introduced turbofan propulsion, and the 1124A added winglets and further refinements. This sequence established IAI’s business-jet experience and preceded the Astra, which moved the product line to a substantially revised airframe concept.
