Astra SP
The Astra SP updates the original IAI Astra with digital avionics and a revised interior. It retains the compact midsize-jet platform and earlier turbofan installation, offering a distinct intermediate step between the first Astra and the more extensively revised, winglet-equipped SPX.

Overview
Program history
IAI developed the SP as a systems-and-cabin evolution of the Astra. Its certification milestone came in 1990, with digital avionics and a new interior central to the update. The later SPX went further with uprated engines and winglets, so the SP should be identified separately when comparing performance, photographs or the configuration of a particular aircraft.
