Overview
Program history
British Aerospace continued a design that had begun at de Havilland and developed under Hawker Siddeley. The 800 brought a revised nose, wing and fuel capability, while the 1000 stretched the cabin and adopted different engines for longer missions. These historical designations remain useful when tracing an aircraft’s certification and manufacturing lineage.
