Overview
The original G500 is a GV-SP-family aircraft related to the G550. It belongs to the BR710-powered, conventional-control generation and should not inherit the current G500’s cabin dimensions, engines or Symmetry flight-deck specifications.
Program history
Gulfstream introduced the G500 and G550 names during its early-2000s range expansion to serve different ultra-long-range requirements. The G500 name was later reused for an unrelated clean-sheet programme.
