Eclipse Concept Jet / Eclipse 400
The Eclipse Concept Jet explored a four-seat personal jet below the Eclipse 500. A single externally mounted engine and V-tail gave it a distinctive shape, while shared components were intended to reduce development complexity. The concept led to the proposed Eclipse 400 but not to certified production.

Overview
Program history
Eclipse unveiled the demonstrator at Oshkosh in July 2007 after an unusually short development effort. It was initially a market-research aircraft: a way to test demand for a smaller jet before committing to production. Its cabin drew on sports-car design, while parts of the wing, landing gear and forward fuselage came from the twin-engine Eclipse programme.
