Program history
The Ascend develops the Excel/XLS lineage with Garmin G5000 avionics, revised Pratt & Whitney Canada engines and a redesigned cabin. The program responds to demand for updated passenger comfort and flight-deck capability while continuing a platform established by the original Excel, rather than a larger clean-sheet jet.
