Citation 500
The Citation 500 is the original straight-wing Citation business jet. It was developed for a simpler, quieter way for businesses to move beyond piston and turboprop transport, with the cabin, propulsion and wing configuration reflecting that particular place in the Citation range.

Overview
Program history
The design began as the Fanjet 500 and first flew in 1969, with certification following in 1971. It established the basic Citation emphasis on accessible business-jet operation and led to the improved Citation I and longer Citation II. This established the original Citation family.
