Overview
The Global 5500 keeps the shorter first-generation Global cabin format while adding Rolls-Royce Pearl 15 engines and an optimized wing. The development targets better efficiency and range alongside a refreshed passenger environment.
Program history
Certified in Canada in 2019 with the Global 6500, the 5500 continues the Global 5000 branch. The paired programmes updated two established Global platforms rather than replacing them with the larger 7500 airframe.
