Overview
Program history
Beech commissioned a next-generation business-aircraft demonstrator to test the concept before committing to full-scale production. Scaled Composites built an 85-percent proof-of-concept aircraft, which first flew in 1983. The subsequent production Model 2000 was a distinct full-size aircraft, so demonstrator measurements should not be used as production Starship specifications.
